Data, AI, and Innovation to Understand Complex Societies
Understanding society means analysing complex systems, where diverse actors—individuals, companies, institutions—mutually influence decisions and socio-economic dynamics. At the DADS PhD Program, students study these interactions, exploring how internal and external factors shape the stability and evolution of economic and financial systems.
Through AI and machine learning, DADS researchers transform large volumes of data into actionable insights, supporting decision-making in areas such as marketing, finance, manufacturing, and life sciences. This approach enables the development of adaptive policies and targeted interventions, enhancing effectiveness, equity, and sustainability.
The multidisciplinary program integrates engineering, social sciences, computer science, and decision theory, training professionals capable of interpreting the interplay between technology and society and proposing innovative strategies to tackle global challenges such as poverty, healthcare, climate change, and digital transformation.
Public institutions and companies interested in data-driven innovation are invited to collaborate with Politecnico di Milano through joint research projects or PhD sponsorships, contributing to advanced research and the development of sustainable, inclusive solutions.
