Abstract:
Additive Manufacturing, 3D printing, and bioprinting are technologies with great potential to achieve the green and digital objectives that society must address. However, production defects caused by several interrelated factors associated with process parameters, construct design, and material properties can prevent the widespread adoption of these solutions in industrial settings. My research leverages the data collected from these processes through smart sensing - such as images, video images, and signals - and focuses on developing data mining and modeling solutions to predict and prevent the formation of defects in situ and online, achieving a more efficient and reliable process.
